a bit about me
Morgan grew up in Memphis, TN and has been dancing since the age of four years old. As she was growing up, she trained and performed all over the Memphis area in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe. In high school, Morgan became involved in a new facet of the performing arts: musical theatre. She performed in various shows at places like Theatre Memphis, Mark E. Collins Theatre, and even in special events at the Orpheum Theatre-Memphis.
After graduating from Arlington High School, Morgan moved to Oklahoma to pursue a degree in American Dance Pedagogy at Oklahoma City University's Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment. It was there that she expanded her horizons further and received education in Teaching Strategies, Anatomy for Dancers, Choreography for Stage & Studio, and many more valuable subjects. She also continued to train in ballet, tap, and jazz in addition to musical theatre, rhythm tap, and contemporary.
During her time at OCU, Morgan was a member of the American Spirit Dance Company for six semesters, in which she performed in Christmas and Spring shows, as well as galas within the community. In addition, Morgan served in various leadership roles within the Students of Arts Management organization and during her senior year, was the first pedagogy major to choreograph for the Oklahoma City University Student Choreography Show. Her work in this show also won her the Choreographic Achievement award from the OCU Dance Faculty.
All throughout her college career, Morgan participated in various workshops and intensives, such as OCUNYC, the Rockettes Summer Intensive, and Broadway Dance Center's Summer Professional Semester. It was at BDC that Morgan's choreography was chosen and featured at the Professional Semester's final showcase. While there, she also expanded her horizons and trained in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, heels, and contemporary.
In May of 2018, Morgan graduated magna cum laude and Cum Honore with a Bachelor of Science in American Dance Pedagogy. Soon after, she made the move to New York City, and now, she is excited to wholeheartedly continue the pursuit of her passion: moving and making moves!
